“Grown-up Hen” & “we” & “us” – means Grown-Up Escapes, otherwise referred to as Grown-up Escapes Ltd of 4 Lyme Vale Court, Lyme Drive, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 6NW, company registration number 10733246. Grown-up Escapes Ltd operates as a Travel Management Company (T.M.C)
“Client” & “you” & “your” – means all persons or any of them named on the booking including anyone added or substituted at a later date, and/or the person who has signed the booking form and includes all the people on whose behalf it has been signed.
“lead Contact”- means the person making the booking, who must be UK resident and at least 18 years of age, and must be authorised to make the booking on behalf of all members of the party. We and any of the suppliers on whose behalf we act reserve the right to cancel your booking if you are not over 18 and a UK resident and we will charge you 100% cancellation fee.
“Booking Party” – means only those persons included on the signed Client booking form and received at the time of booking, including the “Client”;
“supplier” & “representative” – means the company or person handling or providing the activity or service on behalf of Grown-up Escapes. Including hotels & accommodation.
“Experience” – means the selected activities and/or entertainment and/or accommodation and/or transport services and or guide services as detailed in the agenda that are included by the Client in the booking and subsequently reconfirmed in the “Booking Confirmation” provided by Grown-up Escapes;
Upon request, Grown-up Escapes will supply to the Client an agenda in order to make selections for their preferred Experience.
The Client must pay a non-refundable deposit to confirm their commitment to pay for the intended Experiences.
The Contract is made when Grown-up Escapes confirms the Booking Confirmation with details of the agreed Experience and when the deposit receipt is issued.
The Client must check carefully to ensure that Booking Confirmation matches exactly with the details of the booking intended to be made by the Client.
Please note also that a Booking Confirmation will be rejected and treated as cancelled if payment is not forthcoming as per agreed payment schedule.
The price of the Experience and the basis on which it is calculated is contained in the Booking Confirmation.
The Client accepts responsibility for paying for all members of the Booking Party.
The Deposit (which is non-transferable and non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing) as detailed in the Booking Confirmation is payable on booking, the Experience remains unconfirmed until the appropriate deposit is received in full; the remaining balance payment is payable within a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the Experience or by such date as is specified in the Booking Confirmation.
In the case of bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the experience the total amount is payable upon booking.
If the Client opts to make payments by instalments (to the extent that payment by instalment is permitted), all instalment payments are non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of any circumstances be it medical or otherwise. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that all party members are aware of this condition.
Failure to make payment on the due dates will entitle Grown-up Escapes to cancel the Contract without penalty and to treat such failure as a cancellation by the Client, in which case cancellation charges will apply from the date the payment became due.
Grown-up Escapes reserves the right not to provide the Experience or any part thereof until it has received sufficient funds from the Client. Grown-up Escapes will not be liable for any matters arising out of delay in payment by the Client.
In accordance with the Package Travel Regulations (PTR), Grown-up Escapes is required to provide security for passengers’ holiday payments prior to and up to the completion of the “Package Holiday” guarding against the event of financial failure of Grown-up Escapes Ltd.
Grown-up Escapes satisfies this legal obligation by ensuring all customer payments through The Travel Vault scheme.
Please note this is NOT TRAVEL INSURANCE and will not cover you in the event of you cancelling.
The receipt/invoice is your final account and no further reminder regarding payment will be sent.
- ACCOMMODATION RATINGS
Please be advised that all accommodation ratings are given by the respective supplier and may not be the office rating.
Cancelation & changes by the client
All cancellations must be received in writing & will be acknowledged by Grown-up Escapes, cancellation charges are as follows, percentages referring to the total price of the booking:
0-28 days before travel date – 100%
29-70 days before travel date – 50%
more than 71 days before travel date – loss of deposit
If you only cancel part of your booking or decrease the number of people in the party then any relevant refund will only be paid once the entire booking has been recalculated and any changes in price taken into account.
Where possible we will endeavor to accommodate any reasonable request to change your booking. Where your travel arrangements depend on a certain number of people and your change involves a change to the number of people in your party the price for the entire booking will be recalculated on the basis of the new party size. Where we are not able, at our discretion, to help you in respect of your request to change your booking and you are not prepared to proceed with your travel arrangements as booked this will be treated as a cancellation and you will have to pay the cancellation charges set out above in this paragraph.
Changes to your booking must be confirmed in writing by the lead passenger to Grown-up Escapes; no changes can be made within 28 days of travel. Any changes will incur an administration fee of £35 per booking in addition to the cost of any extra services required.
If full payment is not made by the stated due date £25.00 late payment fees will be added to your booking.
Cancelations & changes by Grown-up Escapes Ltd
Although it is unlikely that Grown-up Escapes will need to make changes or cancellations we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and due to circumstances beyond our control. We shall inform you of such changes as soon as possible and offer an alternative of a comparable standard, if available. We regret we cannot pay any expenses, costs or losses incurred by you as a result of any change or cancellation.
Very rarely, Grown-up Escapes may be forced by “force majeure” to change or terminate any part or all of your booking either immediately before or after departure. If this situation does occur we will not make any refunds unless we obtain refunds from our suppliers, nor can we pay any compensation or meet any costs or expenses you incur as a result.
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of “force majeure”. In these booking conditions, “force majeure” means any event, which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.
When you book with Grown-up Escapes, you accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid direct at the time to the accommodation owner or manager or other supplier. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for meeting any claims subsequently made against us (together with your own and the other party’s legal costs) as a result of your actions.
We expect our clients to have consideration for other people. If, in our reasonable opinion, or in the opinion of any other person in authority, you or any member of your party behaves in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to property, we are entitled, without your prior notice, to terminate the booking of the person(s) concerned. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave the accommodation or

If your complaint is not resolved locally and you remain dissatisfied you must email or write to us – Grown-up Escapes, 4 Lyme Vale Court, Lyme Drive, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 6NW, within 28 days of your return home. We will acknowledge receipt of your correspondence and we will respond to all complaints in written format within 28 days. Please rest assured we will do our best to resolve your case more swiftly than this. No complaint will be accepted after 28 days of your return and you will be deemed to have been fully satisfied with all parts of the booking made by us.

The contractual terms and conditions of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements will apply to this contract. These may contain terms which may limit or exclude liability to you for certain events.
In respect of activities arranged by us as part of your travel arrangements, we act only as
We observe the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act) in respect of all personal data held by us at any time. We will not use any personal data relating to you which we hold at any time for any purpose other than in connection with your booking. We will not pass on such data to third parties save where this is necessary
It is your responsibility to arrive at all departure or pick-up points at the time specified in the tickets and/or itineraries supplied by Grown-up Escapes.
We will not accept responsibility for the consequences of late or non-arrival as specified above and no money will be refunded if you miss any part of your trip as a result. Where the arrival time for your flight is delayed and we have arranged airport transfers it is your responsibility to contact the local guide/supplier given to you on your paperwork to advise of the delay. You are responsible for the provision of necessary valid documents required for your trip including visas.
We strongly advise all customers to have adequate travel insurance in place as soon as a booking is confirmed, including adequate cover for any activities included in your booking. This is your responsibility and an insurance waiver form must be signed by you to this effect.
