Have you got through the Easter holidays unscathed or have you been pulling your hair out in frustration? We all love our offsprings however we understand that sometimes hearing that word ‘Mum’ for the umpteenth time is enough to send us over the edge.  Don’t us Mumsm deserve a girls’ break without the kids?

So if you are crying out for some me time why not join the thousands of women who are fighting off the post-school holiday frazzle & reviving themselves with a well-deserved break away with the girls. Yes you may feel guilty.  Yes you may think is it really worth it by the time you’ve made arrangements for someone to take care of the kids. Let me tell you from experience…….. HELL YES it’s worth it!!!!

Denise & I are Mums to 7 lovely children between us, so believe us when we say we know how you feel, that’s why we’ve designed our escapes with mums in mind.

1. You’re tearing your hair out and might seriously harm your health if you don’t take a break (that or you’ll end up bald!)

Children take up a lot of time, on top of that there’s the pressure of work, being a good wife and providing a warm and welcoming home. Investing in yourself DOES NOT make you a bad mother – it makes you a rational thinker. It’s like the emergency instructions in an aeroplane, instructing adults to strap the oxygen mask on themselves before assisting their children. You have to take care of yourself in order to be able to take care of someone else too.

2. Wine o’ clock is getting earlier each day

‘Drink me – I’m so crisp, cool and refreshing’ beckons the 2017 Margaret River Chardonnay from the fridge. Trouble is, you’ve begun to notice that the Merlot has begun to sing it’s siren song much earlier each day and if you’re not careful, you’ll be pouring vino on your cornflakes instead of milk!

We’re all guilty of heading straight for the wine rack after a day of scraped knees, temper tantrums and picking up scalped Barbie dolls and lego from EVERY room in the house, but ultimately all your doing is delaying the stresses of motherhood, adding extra calories to your daily intake and setting yourself up for a potential hangover which is going to make tomorrow virtually unbearable.

3. You love your kids, but being on call 24/7 can be exhausting

Motherhood isn’t something you can just clock in and out of whenever you feel like it – as much as you’d like to at times. There’s a reason that they say being a mum is one of the toughest jobs in the world, and as much we adore our little cherubs (even when they’re behaviour isn’t exactly angelic) being on call all day and night can leave you wide open to ‘mummy burn-out’.

And then what? Who’s going to take over the school run or be ‘pigtail- stylist extraordinaire’ when you haven’t even got the energy to put your own socks on? Sounds a bit harsh but believe me this actually happens far more than mums will want to admit!

So when is the best time for a girls’ break without the kids?

We see an influx of women getting away from it all either before the big holidays start or straight after – think June or  September, the weather is perfect in Portugal and Majorca at this time of year

Where would we recommend?

That’s a tough one as we’ve designed all of our escapes in Portugal and Mallorca with busy women in mind, my personal favourite for mums who want to chill is The Tivoli Carvoeiro.

If I’m going away without the kids surely I should go with my husband/partner?

Yes, that’s a good point and its important that you spend quality time with the other half –  but think about how much more he will appreciate you when you get home plus it’s going to give him some time to bond with the kids.

So from total wellness breaks where you can make up for all those fish fingers you’ve snaffled from the kids’ plates with some amazingly healthy gourmet cuisine & relaxing yoga sessions to total pampering in some of Europe’s leading spa hotels, there are so many options to relieve some stress & get together with your group of girls for some blissful relaxation.

Our unique range of luxurious escapes designed specifically with busy mum’s in mind is the ideal solution to school holiday tension. Get your favourite ladies together for a 3 or 5-night girls’ break without the kids with us and discover some of Europe’s most stunning destinations and enjoy a range of world-class spa treatments, stress releasing activities and fabulous dining experiences that will help melt away weeks of parental pressure.

So, the next time to son -and-heir decides to redecorate his walls with Crayola or you’re trying to remove a boiled sweet from your little darlings’ long locks, give us a call and you’ll soon be enjoying a little luxury with your favourite ladies.

You’ll also be surprised at the little extra appreciation you’ll get when you return home!
